My name is Rob. I'm The Ultimate Canes fan/Alumnus. It's ALL About The U and we'll be restoring the order in 2008.

I'm all about THE U 24-7-365. Particularly football, baseball and hoops. If you're a Gator fan, Nole, Irish or Hokie, chances are we're going to battle in our posts. I might as well admit it now. I just don't like you all LOL.

I'm also a huge Dolphin fan but my passion lies within the college ranks. Looks like a great forum and I look forward to talking football with everyone. Thanks.

hey dude welcome to the forum .... this site (and me as well) is huge about all levels of football ..... its my favorite sport

you have some volatile teams there .... whats going to happen with Taylor and the Fins ? ...... i wish they would trade him to the Pats

as far as the U goes ..... they were the team of the land in the late 80's- mid 90's .... lately not so much ..... i have to say at this point i would be impressed if they can stay off the police blotter

Come on Simon I just got here and you have me defending the Canes already? Police blotter? Name the last Cane that was arrested? You'll find yourself going back a few years. And by the way, in case you forgot we were the team of this decade also up until a couple of years ago. Or did you forget our 34 game winning streak and 2 back to back National Title Game appearances? (National Champions in 2001) The Canes will surprise people this year. We've been counted out before and we've come storming back. This time will be no different. Our QB play has suffered but we're still plenty dangerous.

As for Taylor and the Fins, to be honest with you. I'm a bit tired o the drama. My view is he is under contract. Period. Show up or retire. (In the meantime, I'm sure they won't trade him unless they get the right deal) I do however, believe Parcells had a decent draft and only time will tell. All I know is from a fans standpoint, we have reason for optimism. Can't get any worse than last year, can it?

So getting back to the good stuff - on the field - can the Canes win the ACC in 2008?

Lefty - Thanks for the welcome. I truly believe they can. The Canes are still plenty talented and basically have suffered a bit on the O Line and mostly at the QB position. We are deep (albeit inexperienced) at QB but all 3 QB's are very highly touted. I happen to be very close to the program (I'm an Alumnus and friends with many coaches and players) and they are all optimistic. If our offense improves or better yet if we find a QB to be a leader and make clutch plays when needed....watch out.
