This is DBCOBRA from Georgia. I have been a NASCAR fan for 12 years. I was introduced to NASCAR at Talladega by my son. I at first thought I would not like it. I watched on TV and the cars spent all day going left around a circle. However the second the cars engines were started in the Busch race I was hooked. As a fan I have learned to watch what is happening on the entire track. I am a Dale JR fan. However I appreciate and admire the talent of all the drivers. I don't call a driver stupid or lucky for beating my driver. Winning a race is not accomplished by luck (most of the time). These drivers are talented athletes and I appreciate and admire that as a fan.
I enjoy going to Talledega. Some of what goes on there is highly overstated. Most of the people there have a good time. They banter back and forth about drivers, then shake hands after the race. The people there (for the most part) are passionate about racing.
I just got back from the 50th running of Daytona. It was quite a spectacle. I enjoyed every minute from Thursday until Sunday. I saw some very good races. The truck race (first truck race I saw in person) was amazing. The trucks were much louder than I thought they would be.
I appreciate a forum to talk to people who enjoy NASCAR racing. I respect everyones opinion. I am not going to get into arguments with anyone.
I enjoy baseball. I coached baseball for 39 years.
