I think that the team has lost faith in Weis. He's a tough coach - tough training sessions, tough on the kids. I just didn't see the passion in them this year and it made me wonder if they had lost that passion because they weren't totally behind their coach and "believing" in him and what he said. Any good coach has to have the trust and respect of his/her players and I just think that was lost this year.

Might be some truth to it...but perhaps its also a like of talent...Notre Dame is...well, a tough academic school...and there is a tier of players that they will not let play there...unfortunately, they may be some of the better players pretending to be students...that's my take...
