Re: My Personal Private Little Corner Of The World

I am a guy named What.
I kicked some butt.

I am stuck here in this room,
looking at my sudden doom
and I am very confused.

What?!?!?!

Re: My Personal Private Little Corner Of The World

Hey Tuck, did you know that sharks teemed in the waters of Alabama about 80 million years ago?

A woman kept the remains of a 90 year old woman on her toilet, decomposing. She said she and another person were praying for her to come back to life.
Oh yeah, the couple who were praying were cashing the elderly lady's social security checks. This happened in Wisconsin.

An ancient tomb was discovered in Bogota, Columbia. The bones date back to from around the turn of the first century to the 16th. One skeleton appeared to be a human sacrifice, buried alive. Her mouth was open in terror and her fingers appeared to be clutching at something.

I love useless stuff like this. I spend my time reading that instead of posting about sports.

Re: My Personal Private Little Corner Of The World

really good news out of Washington DC i hope

Fox News is reporting that the Energy Dept is not buying oil any longer at the moment .... i really hope this is an attempt to get OPEC to lower oil prices

im not interested in the politics of who is behind this .. like them or not .. until i know different i will give them (all of the US Gov.) some credit for trying to help

Cloverfield's out on DVD now, I think.

What is Hancock?

I'm fired up over Indy 4 and Prince Caspian. Kids want to see Iron Man and Speed Racer (and Wall-E, when it comes out).

What is Hancock?
it looks hilarious ... Will Smith is a different type of Super Hero .... he is a drunk bum that is basically Superman .... he tries to help out, but doesnt seem to care about the consequences of his actions

a whale washes up on a beach ... so Hancock flies in and picks up the whale and tosses it about 200 yards out to sea ... but it lands on a sailboat

Re: My Personal Private Little Corner Of The World

I like Star Trek, but I think I'll pass on the new one since the Lost creative team is behind it.
Heh... just saw Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home again the other day. That's still the best Star Trek movie they've made.

Yeah, they arent going to keep stockpiling it in the reserve for awhile, but dont think its to put pressure on Opec. Opec is firmly saying "No way, no how" for the time being. Its not enough to put pressure on them anyway. Its only about 70000 barrels a day.
Its Congress and they are getting pressure from their constituents. But at least its a start.

Re: My Personal Private Little Corner Of The World

Hancock and the Murphy one sound good. Saw previews for both.
Good thing about being a senior citizen is I get into the movies for $5 Not that I go that often. Sometimes with the grandkids.

Re: My Personal Private Little Corner Of The World

i was thinking about a possibility today .... how about if a state agrees to temporarily lower its fuel tax ..... maybe for the summer

im thinking a state could lower their fuel tax maybe by about 50 cents a gallon

i think any revenue they would lose per customer they would more then make-up by the overall added business

actually, they had been talking about cutting the federal tax for the summer months but I think they have pretty much decided to nix the idea. I dont know how it is by you, but our roads are in terrible shape. The money goes to keep our roads in repair (across the nation. At least its supposed to) And it wouldnt amount to that much of a diff in the consumer's pockets anyway for a few months.
I think you are getting the revenue of the gas stations mixed up with the tax revenue. If they cut it, there wont be any tax revenue.
