Yet another Bear fan joins

Please use this forum to introduce yourself to all the other sports fans here. Some of the things we'd like to know about you include: Your Name: Bob Your Home Town: (or wherever you call home) About 100 miles south of Chicago IL Your Age: (or at least an estimate) 44 Your Favorite Sport: (or list several in order) Football, women's gymnastics, women's figure skating, women's beach volleyball. Your Favorite Team/Athlete: (or list several in order)Da Bears / Walter Payton How You Found Us: (was it Google, a link from another website, referred by another member?) I don't remember Anything else you want to share: (lol, keep in mind we're a PG rated forum. I'll save that for when we all know each other a lot better. I don't really consider myself a sports guy, except during football season. Then I live, eat, and breath all things Bears. Was going through withdraws, wanted some news, and found this place. I was happy lurking, and just reading, then I saw the comments about Hester, and I just had to join.

Re: Yet another Bear fan joins

Welcome aboard, Harold, and thanks for joining us. I promise I'll try and nail at least one like that again this season!

In the meantime, what do you think about this whole Lance Briggs mess?

Awesome! We have about 200-400 members who post somewhat regularly but we've got about 2,000-5,000 regular lurkers who read our forum. We'll continue to grow & become an even better community if more will follow Weird Harold's lead & join in with us.

Welcome to GTG, weird Harold. Look forward to chatting with you!

Re: Yet another Bear fan joins

Don't want to say too much about the ice skating/gymnastics. My wife regularly checks my computer's history. What do I think about the Lance Briggs mess? This is all about parity. The NFL wants parity. That's why the winner of the super bowl picks last, and the team with the worst record picks first. For the NFL to grow, and prosper, as a whole, and since the TV revenues are split among the teams, it's in every team's best interests for all teams to be evenly matched. Seams to me the Bears are trying to even things up voluntarily, as evidenced by the Thomas Jones trade. I think what will happen is Lance Briggs will be traded for some "magic beans". I guess I could hope that the Chargers jump on the parity bandwagon, and trade us Ladainian Tomlinson for him. In all seriousness Lance deserves better. He played great football, for a starting salary, and didn't try any renegotiating BS, before his contract was up. Now it's pay day. Pay the man.

I am all for paying your man Briggs...and Thomas would have been a nice one-two punch with Benson. There are some that say Benson can't carry the full load.

...Having said that...I am disappointed man, here I thought we were about to compare the artistic majestry of Sasha Cohen on ice with that of former American gymnast Kathy Johnson...whose rendition of Swan Lake still stands out in my mind as one of the most classy of floor exercises...

But hey, if your wife is checking...we best get back to the Bears.
