hey 2 every hockey fan out there! im blazinsabrez61 and obsessed with the sabres. i just want to say that this is the best website i have ben on to talk hockey with other fans - i tried to get on other forums but they were all difficult to join and impractical. but not this website! its simple, easy to send messages, and theres always something new.
ok now about the sabres and penguins game last night...it was good to see that the sabres at least got 1 point but they were lucky at that...the penguins dominated for pretty much the whole game but the sabres did have some good shifts and great plays to scrap up enough goals to force the game into OT. when drury scored that goal with 6 seconds left in the game i was ecstatic - just think that the sabres were outshot nearly 3 to 1 but still managed to score 4 goals! now that to me is a great team. for the first time in a while i saw that resilliency in the sabres that fans have ben expecting 2 c every game - i personally was a little doubtful, but i knew that the sabres are the first place team in the conference and if anyone can come back from the game it would be them. and they did. it was miraculous.
still im not very impressed with miller.
that impossible 3rd goal he let in was preventable and shouldnt have even ben anything. then the crosby deflection was a pretty bad goal - a goal he would usually stop. in the shootout, he let in two goals on three attempts, but in his defense, these goals were from two amazing hockey players - christensen and crosby - who deeked miller so bad that he probably wouldnt have a chance anyway. im planning on conklin to play tomorrow against florida because of its lesser significance and the fact that they have back-to-back games.
drury looks like hes finally getting his groove back!
he created a great play that ended up with a kalinin goal. it was good to see some life in his game and im expecting that hes only going to get better.
still in spite of all this the sabres need some of their veterans back to get the team back to where they were - and their prayers might be answered in the form of spacek and kotailk this week.
whats even more hopeful is that the rest of the players (including afinogenov) should be back by the playoffs, and connolly and/or gaustad could be seeing some game action before the sabres are done.
so LETS GO SABRES! THE CUP IS OURS FOR THE TAKING! and thanks to ne1 who had the time and patience to read this (i usually tend to type/write more than i should!)
