Hello, all! Newbie from FL checking in. 26, football nut-- lifelong Bucs fan (Pack would be my 2nd fave), and in college like the 'Noles, and as I'm a UCF grad, the Knights. Other sports interests include fishing and golf. Anyways, great place you have here! ![]()

| Re: Another Newbie... Welcome aboard, Paka, and thanks for joining us! Bet you're looking forward to Signing Day tomorrow. Fishing, eh? Boy does that sound real good right now, as I'm up here in the Buckeye State suffering through 20-below wind chills. But enough of my grumbling; looking forward to chatting with you in the weeks and months ahead!

Re: Another Newbie... Thanks for the welcome, everyone! ![]() I was born in '80, but my family has had season tix from the beginning (and my husband has them, also, so we make almost every game). Growing up during the long losing season, nobody else really wanted to go with my dad, so I ended up going to a lot of games, hehe. Yep, class of '03, Under Construction Forever.

Re: Another Newbie... Thanks! When I first decided to go to UCF, one of the things I really liked was that it was a big campus, with a small college type atmosphere, though that changed a bit though as the years went by. Overall, loved the professors, and the atmosphere is friendly and pretty laid back. The campus itself is pretty easy to get around for a larger university. Crowds became a bit of a problem last couple years I was there, as I mentioned-- getting a computer in a lab, getting your lunch, ect., could take forever in peak hours, and getting the classes you need can be a pain. Though it is technically Orlando, it is a good drive from downtown, and even farther from the theme parks. The area is pretty suburban. Housing is a bit of an issue-- not much campus housing, but I'd avoid it anyways. Lots of apartments aimed at college students right off campus. I lived at a place almost right across from campus that had a good set-up-- 2-4 students lived in an apartment, but each had a separate lease, private bed and bath, and utilities were included. Parking could be a real hassle on campus, but if you lived at one of the off campus apartments, you could usually catch a free bus to campus. Can't really comment much of the Greek and the party life in general, as I pretty much avoided all that, lol.

Re: Another Newbie... College is a huge part of your life. However, I think that you have made a decent selection that suits your needs and provides a better education than most schools out there. Regardless, welcome to the GoTeamsGo Fan Forum, Paka.
