| Re: Just an introduction from Bette I dont know. There are a couple I dont know enough about. Other than that, none of the names out there strike me as being the one. Turner has just too big of a loss record. And it HAS to be someone who can handle Jerry and Terrell. I doubt if he is the one to do that. |

| Re: Just an introduction from Bette Welcome, Bette. If anybody is giving you trouble, feel free to report your problems to any moderators. I liked the Dallas Cowboys when they had Emmitt Smith. Especially, that identity crisis commerical a few years back. |

| Re: Just an introduction from Bette MJH Mark Is that Antartica as in all that ice and snow????? AAh, yes the glory years. I rewatch those games all the time. They were something werent they? Only whenever I do I wonder "Why cant they play like that now?" I was almost as thrilled when Emmit won on Dancing with the Stars as the day he beat Walter Paytons record against the Seahawks. That was one of the bright spots in that season. Seems like some really nice people on here. |

| Re: Just an introduction from Bette Yes, it is. I live in Freezetown, Antartica with the polar bears and penguins. Occassionally, I like to share a Coke with them and gloat over the Jets' victories. Emmitt Smith is one of the best RBs of all-time, if not the best. And Troy Aikman is up there somewhere, just like his jersey is stuffed in the back of my wardrobe next to Mark Brunell. I never knew that Smith would be such a sensational dancer. But his quick feet obviously gave him an advantage on the floor. Our mission is to be one of the nicest, and largest sports forums on the internet. On another forum that I was previously on, I was banned for defending someone who was innocently banned when the administrator went amock. |

| Re: Just an introduction from Bette I have heard it said that he was only as good as he was because of his offensive line. What do you think??? I still remember about him playing with a separated shoulder. That kind of takes out the thrust of the negative stuff I think. It kind of feels like Antartica here in Wisconsin right now. No games with the grandkids on the front lawn for awhile |

| Re: Just an introduction from Bette That is always a debate, regarding the QB's relation to his offensive line. Especially when you look at David Carr of the Texans who gets sacked an incredible amount of times due to a faulty offensive line to block him. Aikman was definitely a motivated QB. He focused on winning it all, and not on the money or aggravating his coach. Terrell Owens on the other hand, targets the exact opposite and publicity. But we must all remember that publicity follows all major professional star athletes whether they like it or not. Considering that you live in Wisconsin, how come you aren't a Packers fan? |

| Re: Just an introduction from Bette David Carr reminds me of those punching bags the kids have. Hit him and he bounces right back up. He deserves a real chance. The discussion about Terrill goes on and on doesnt it? Hope he proves the naysayers wrong this coming season, not because I am particularly a fan of his right now, but for what it could mean to the Cowboys. Why I am not a Packer fan----I have always wanted to tell someone this. Long ago at my last job I found it was a lot of fun to walk into a roomful of Packer fans and yell "Go Cowboys!" I didnt like football and knew nothing about it. I did a lot of faking. But the Cowboy fan tag stuck. I was watching with my then ten year old grandson and he explained a few of the basics. I was hooked from that moment on. Grandma and her football is a source of humor in our family. I have no real clue why I love it and everything about it so much. Supposed to get 20 below here in the next week. By the way, the polar bears dont drink Coke so much. Nowadays its bottled water. Especially the fish flavored kind. |

| Re: Just an introduction from Bette So wait, fred, are you saying Larry Johnson, right now, is better than Emmitt Smith? Let's see him do it for more than two years before we go anointing him as superior to the NFL's all-time leading rusher, shall we? |

| Re: Just an introduction from Bette Quote:
Yeah, it takes more than two years. |

| Re: Just an introduction from Bette L.T. vs. Emmitt... good one. Wow. Tomlinson is definitely more of a pass catching threat, and probably has more raw talent. The thing that made Emmitt so great was his heart, and the way he could just destroy an opposing team, even if he wasn't 100%. I will never forget the way he dismantled the Giants that one Thanksgiving with one arm. Both are great backs. It's a toss up in my mind. Sorry if that's a cop out!
