Hey, magic, and welcome to GoTeamsGo. I'm on the other side of the fence - I grew up as a Celtics fan, though from the great Magic vs. Bird battles of the 80s, I have the utmost respect for L.A. Sadly, Wilt vs. Russell was a little before my times (thank goodness for ESPN Classic!). So what do you think of the Lakers chances this year?

Re: Hello

Thanks for the welcome. I hope they do good but it all depends on how well everyone plays and if Kobe can trust his teammates enough to play a team game. I too loved those Lakers Celtics battles from the 80's. The Celtics are my second favorite team which sounds kind of strange coming from a Laker fan. I know it is a longshot but I would love to see another Lakers Celtics finals.

Re: Hello

Hey magic, welcome to GTG.

I think we're a few decades away from having another Lakers/Celtics Finals lol. Why does it seem all the classic teams (Celtics and Knicks specifically) have trouble staying competitive?

Anyway, Kobe Bryant should have another great year but I doubt hell all of a sudden become a team player. Shame too. If the rest of the team develops well, they could be a low-seed in the West this season.

Thanks for the welcome. I agree it is going to be a long time before another Lakers Celtics final. We'll just have to see if Kobe will become a team player. I read somewhere that he is going to try to be more of one this season.

If he could become more of a team player and the team can come through in the games then I think it will make him more dangerous to everyone else. I hope he will do it because I know he can. But we'll just have to wait and see if he does.

Re: Hello

Welcome to the GoTeamsGo Fan Forum, Magic. At first I thought you were an Orlando Magic fan, but now your username must relate to MJ (Magic Johnson) of the '90s. He was a great player, but Wilt Chamberlain was the best in my opinion. Kobe Bryant is a little rough around the edges but is just what the team needs. He is a high-scorer who can easily get 30 points a night.
