Talking What Up Sports Fans?

Hello, My Name Is Mike, I'm 42 Years Old, And I Live In The 2 Time City Of Champions Pittsburgh Pennsylvania. My Favorite Sport Is Football, With Ice Hockey Running A Very Close Second, Not Much Of A Baseball Fan Anymore, The Free Agency Era Changed That For Me, Not To Mention That Our Team And The Fans Have Endured 17 Straight Losing Seasons, To Make The Pirates The Worst Team In Baseball. By Now I'm Pretty Sure You've Guessed That The Steelers Are My Favorite Team In The NFL, I Bleed Black And Gold Through And Through. Very Proud Of Our Steelers, I, Like Many Steeler Fans Around The Country Believe That The Steelers Should Be Considered As America's Team, Hell, The Worlds Team For That Matter. No Sports Franchise Has The Fan Base That The Steelers Have. When You Watch A Game On Television, And You See Thousands Of Terrible Towels Waving In The Opposing Teams Venue, That Really Makes You Proud. Favorite Athletes, Hmmm, Well, Mario Lemieux Was My Idol When He Was Still Playing Hockey, And I Had The Opportunity To See Him Play Many Times. Ben Roethlisberger Is Definitely At The Top Of My List Now, Sidney Crosby, Evgeny Malkin, Troy Polamolu, Hines Ward. I Found This Forum Via A Search Through Scroogle Scraper, I Don't Use Google, They Track Your Searches, No Privacy! I Hope To Have Fun Here, Meet New And Friendly Sports Fans, And Take Note, Defend My Teams When They Are Disrespected, I Won't Disrespect Your Teams, Don't Disrespect Mine. And.... Don't Mess With The Terrible Towel, It Is Very Sacred To Us Steeler Fans, I'm Waiting To See What Happens To The Next Team That Will Add Itself To The Growing Curse List For The Disrespect They Show Our Beloved Terrible Towel. The List: San Diego Chargers, Cincinnati Bengals, Arizona Cardinals, Tennessee Titans, Who Wants To Be Next?

Re: What Up Sports Fans?

Welcome to the forum Steelerfan. I am not sure about this "terrible towel" tradition. Maybe you can give me more insight. Huge forum and have a look around. Some great posters here and sports fans as well.

Broncos will see your Steelers in a couple weeks. Should be great game and they are in a battle right now with the Vikings. Good luck on that game today as well. Cheers!

Hi Quack Attack, thanks for the welcome, and for the luck today, we finally pulled it out thanks to our D. for more insight on the Terrible Towel tradition, please see my posts in Tennessee Titans: why are the titans winless? Started by Bette I believe, where i had a great discussion about it with tngrl, and, Titangirl311. Let me know what you think.

Re: What Up Sports Fans?

Guess I have met you before Steelerfan.
Nice win again the Vikings today, had that ball not been intercepted Favre would have scored I am sure.
Welcome to the forum and I hope you enjoy yourself.

Hi kkfan91, good to meet you here, and i look forward to some great discussions about our cross state rivalries. Steelers And Pens, I won't even include our shameful baseball team, but good luck in the series, let's keep the state of champions going, and going, and going! Between our 5 teams, i see many more championships in the near future, ahh so great to live in this state.

Hi again Bette, you are probably right about that, but, that's what great defenses do when the game is on the line, they make big plays. I'm actually surprised they held Peterson to only 69 yards on the ground, I thought for sure with Aaron Smith out, they would have a handful of him to deal with, but as i stated in another post, the defense takes pride in not allowing 100 yard rushers, 25 regular season games now, and counting.

I believe they are almost there kkfan91, Through the games played on August 4, 2007, the Pirates all time win/loss record is 9600-9355, can't seem to find a 2009 record.
