I could not agree more. Last nite exhibition looked like some "Bomber Division" (entry level) drivers at the local track, driving very expensive cars.
"Fixing a car" (Carpenter's Menard's car, for one) to get back out on the track and run laps to get points is a trait which I thought that NA__AR had the monopoly on? I really hate to see IRL go to this tactic.
I was very impressed with Hunter-Reay again. He was coming from the back at a a good pace. And where did this Camara kid come from?
Bottom line is that I think there are just some tracks too small for the IRL cars. As much as I like Richmond I just don't think that it is big enough to do justice to the faster open wheelers. I didn't see it but I would bet that the Silver Crown race, ran just before the IRL thing, was the better race of the two.
Danica keeps on being Danica, I see. Her driving apparently ruffled some feathers last night but I didn't see anything wrong with what she did. She was just driving to keep position.
I think that these CART guys are, for the most part, catching on to oval racing quickly and, from what I hear them say, they seem to enjoy it.
Last night's fiasco notwithstanding, I think thongs are looking up for IRL. 60K people in the stands?! 40K+ in the stands the week before?! How often has that happened to either series in the past few years?
