Yeah, I agree. Indy can't afford to lose this guy. Still, I'm sure Colts fans would like it if they could get a long-term deal done.

The article says it was a long-term deal, but how many years and for how much? Any way you slice it, it's a good move by the Colts.

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - Sources tell 24-Hour News 8 that the six-year contract signed by Dallas Clark makes him the highest paid tight end in NFL history.

Clark signed the contract with the Indianapolis Colts on Wednesday, one day after the team placed the franchise tag on him.

Team president Bill Polian and agent Neil Cornrich would not say how much the contract was worth.
But it is believed to make Clark one of the league's highest-paid tight ends and puts him in the Colts' expanding club of highly paid players, a list that already includes two-time league MVP Peyton Manning, Pro Bowl receivers Marvin Harrison and Reggie Wayne, defensive end Dwight Freeney and safety Bob Sanders.
