wat if we win another?

if the colts win another, exactly how high up the charts will peyton manning shoot. early in his career he was called teh second coming of dan marino, which is a good and a bad thing if you know wat i mean. but then the colts won a superbowl. so is he the second coming of johnny unitas now? or is he his own man. in 20 years will we be saying "you know john, this ____________ guy is the second coming of peyton manning" ? its obvious that he was alredy a HOF'er before the superbowl and that ring was simply the cherry on top and just happened to put him in the "top 5" of all time. but if he wins another, even though he will "only" have 2, does that put him on the top floor with montana/bradshaw/unitas/elway? on a radio show micheal irvin was asked "with this superbowl win, is peyton manning now better than THE dan marino" micheal irvin couldnt get the words "yes" outta his mouth fast enough. and i think irvin knows quarterbacks, he played with a guy named aikman, maybe you heard of em. manning obviously has the physical skills with a physique that would make even aikman and bradshaw jealous. no need to mention the numerous records like most perfect passer rating games including one against his rival ( no intro needed) and the only one to do it in the playoffs. so would another ring be the rims to his mercedes of a career? would another ring earn him that title? you know, GOAT?

Re: wat if we win another?

Wow... so tough to call. With another ring and a few more really strong seasons statistically, it's possible I guess. I really like Manning and he's definitely one of the best, but mentally, I guess I just can't wrap my brain around him potentially being the "GOAT" at this point.

Oh.
You cant call any of the active quarterbacks the Goat.
But Manning could be. Only time will tell. Unless you can foresee the future?

No I agree but he is the greatest of the post Class Of '84 group. He's Dan Marino with a championship ring IMO.

It was never suggested that he IS the greatest, merely that he CAN BE. And yes, he certainly can be if the chips fall right.

Most definitely. I personally don't think Peyton Manning is that far away from being the all time greatest. Of course "the greatest of all times" is subjective. I've heard a lot of names tossed around concerning this subject but did anyone mention Bart Starr? I mean come playoff time this guy never lost!!!

It most certainly is subjective. There are just way too many variables to be able to come up with a conclusive answer.
I would say for sure we could say that even right now Peyton is pretty darn good.

Re: wat if we win another?

o know. i aint tryin to say that he IS the GOAT. you got guys like bart star and johnny unitas who cant be touched. not even by joe cool (montana). those 2 guys are basically the CEO's on the top floor. they just play golf in their office all day on that little green sttrip while everyone else (including montana) can only dream of being like them. then you got the guys underneath htem-bradshaw,montana,aikman,elway. all i'm saying is can manning put himself in that group. or will he be in with the favre's and marino's and kelly's ?
