Sanders has surgery and is NFL Defensive player of year

For a second straight year, Indianapolis Colts star safety Bob Sanders has undergone offseason shoulder surgery.

ESPN - Colts' Sanders undergoes arthroscopic shoulder surgery - NFL

Hard-hitting Indianapolis Colts safety Bob Sanders has been named the NFL's Defensive Player of the Year, the league announced Wednesday. Sanders had 96 tackles, 3.5 sacks and two interceptions while anchoring a defense that allowed the fewest points (262) in the NFL this season.

Sanders says his surgery was just maintenance and that had they gone to the Super Bowl he would have played. I just remember how bad that Colts defense was when he was out. He missed as many games as he played in his first three seasons.

Well, hopefully he's right and it's no big deal. Best for him to start the season as healthy as possible, cause he sure won't finish the season that way.

That is what worries me with Sanders, he is just like Mike Borwn, a big hitter but that will wear on you and make you very injury prone.

Well, I know I'm in the minority, but I still believe it's Polamalu from Pittsburgh.
