And Geechee has joined Seahawker's lonely chorus because he thinks this was some sort of protest by these kids and thus they deserve everything they got. And those fans were showing their class when they booed the kids getting awards. Yeah, I know, everybody says they were booing that one girl with a Patriots jersey .. but they really weren't. They were booing all the kids 'cause when they showed disrespect to one of them they showed it to all of them. You see, Seahawker and Geechee, this was no different than a group of kids getting awards for winning a softball tournament, or basketball championship, or a soccer title or ... a punt, pass and kick competition. When anybody boos the kids for their achievements, whether it's because they don't like their team name, their city or state, or the way they are dressed, it's all the same. They're booing the kids because of their accomplishments and that is not low class, but completely classless. This is not about any team or athlete, but about showing respect. I hope someday you both will have grown up enough that you understand the difference. I'm glad to see there are classy people in Indianapolis and that they wanted to insure the girl and her family take away a good image of the city.

| Re: Girl,15, takes boos in stride at Colts-Charger game are we reading the same thread? where did i say that i was a protest? and how is it no different than being at a softball game? noone is saying she was trying to protest. its just that she wore the jersey of the teams rival and shouldnt necessarily expect to be greeted with a coke and a smile. and when ddi you her them booo all of the kids? i watched that whole game and have it recorded on dvr (even though i really dont wanna watcht it since they lost) and i only heard her getting bood. and no its not the same, she wasnt bood for winning teh competition. she was bood for wearing a patriots jersey in indianapolis. its not like she won a softball game and whe losing crowd bood her. she was simply part of a halftime show of TEH AFC CHAMPIONSHIP GAME. so because i dont see something your way means i need to "grow up" ? |

but, you're having trouble keeping the two events separate, evidently the same as those fans. it might have been understandable if the girl had been wearing a San Diego jersey (they were the ones beating the Colt's butts), but she wasn't. this was an awards ceremony. that it was taking place at a football game on national television was because the NFL sponsors the event and the NFL chose to have the ceremony at that game, but it had nothing to do with either of the teams competing at that stadium on that day. when the fans choose to boo the girl, they were booing a participant in a contest that had nothing to do with the game they were attending. so, in effect, they were booing the contest and those who participated in it. no matter where you go, when someone boos award recipients, they show a lack of class. when you grow up, you're usually surprised to find you see things differently. I know I was. |

| Re: Girl,15, takes boos in stride at Colts-Charger game why do you keep saying when i grow up or i need to grow up? do you even know me? i need to grow up cuz you and i disagree on one thing that really doesnt matter? is it really that serious. just because everyone doesnt see this teh same way you do doesnt mean you are so muc hmore mature and everyone needs to catch up you. in no way am i trying to condone what the fans did. all i'm saying is that its really not that big a deal and its not like noone knows why they did it. lemme get this right, you are saying that since the competition had onthing to do witht the game, and the fans chose to boo teh girl in the pats jersey, that means tehy were booing everybody? when they clearly only bood when she was shown on the jumbotron (or watever they call their big stadium screen). please explain your logic and how you got to that conclusion. and i would appreiciate if you would do it without tellin me i need to grow up. or that i'm not as grown up as you are when you clearly dont evne know me |
