Your opinion on the second half is based off a drive from the first half? That seems completely logical to me. And technically, they weren't playing a prevent defense. In order for it to be classified as such both safeties would need to be playing deep, when in actuality their coverage shell was a Cover One. There were plays in that drive in which cornerbacks played zone and bracket coverage, but I didn't see a prevent formation before the half. Choke job of a gameplan? As you keep reiterating, they were up 21-3 at that point, so it couldn't have been that bad. The only criticism I have of Belichick is not running the ball more. On defense, Peyton Manning took what the Patriots gave him. When they adjusted, he adjusted. The Colts exploited the Patriots' fatigue and lack of team speed, plain and simple. Give credit to Manning, he did very well. |

| Re: Manning under pressure??? 1) I will except the challenge only hopeing you are not a sore loser. 2) You agree that you would never engage me in any topic on the sport that I love . 3) This is were keeping it real just went wrong for you my friend. First of all like the first superbowl with the rams I would have did the same thing. I would have played bump and run and not let any receiver off the line. Then I would have substituded players I planned all week for applying pressure on manny for sixty minutes. Then constantly explain to my players that they will be cut from the team if any colt player catching the ball or not is not hit and picking up thier helmet off the ground ( hopefully with there heads still in the helmet). Is that real enough sir!!!! |

Belichick was substituting players en masse throughout the first half. New England was brilliant with their personnel substitutions. However, Manning finally decided to pump the tempo up as the close of the first half neared, which effectively put that strategy to an end. How would you have pressured Peyton Manning? Believe me, it makes a difference. |

BUT will you answer me this why did'nt the same rules of engaging a wide out apply to the mugging that the patriot's wideouts were receiving. And as a bonus I have this fred facter quote. "The superbowl will not change a man. If the man is naturally soft and overrated (take in mind not the man I'm talking about the player.) Then the big game will surely and mean surely bring It out. |

| Re: Manning under pressure??? Sure manning is under pressure. To finally win one and get the monkey off of his back, but no matter what happens on sunday, it's not like he is losing his job unless he injures himself. but if the question is who is under more pressure, Peyton or Rex, I would have to say Rex, a bad loss for him could send him into obscurity. At least Peyton should have more opportunities to make it/win.
