2006 Indianapolis Colts Football Schedule

The Colts had an amazing 2005 season. Many thought they had the chance to go undefeated, and for a while there, it looked as though they might just do so. But in the end, the winning streak ended and Peyton Manning and company fell short of their ultimate goal -- a Super Bowl title.

But the 2006 season will mark a new year and a new chance for the most exciting offense in professional football to make a run at the NFL Championship, and perhaps even a second run at perfection. A lot of that will depend upon the strength of the opponents on the 2006 Indianapolis Colts Football Schedule.

This year, Indy will face Houston, Jacksonville, Tennessee, Buffalo, Miami, Philadelphia, Washington, Cincinnati at home and the Texans, Jags, Titans, Patriots, Jets, Cowboys, Giants and Broncos on the road. So how close can they come to a 16-0 record in 2006?

Re: 2006 Indianapolis Colts Football Schedule

I think it all depends on what kind of running back they can get. Personally I believe that without Edgerrin James or a running back of compareable value their offense won't be close to what it was the last couple years. Without a running game the other teams can blitz a lot more and pressure Manning.

The Colts should still be a very good team but I don't think they will come close to 16-0. 10-6 or maybe 11-5 seems reasonable. They have a pretty tough schedule with Tennessee, Buffalo, and the Jets games (maybe Houston but we will have to see how much of a difference Reggie Bush makes) as the only ones I can give them right now. Every other game will be somewhat tough.

Re: 2006 Indianapolis Colts Football Schedule

I hope Colts' fans want more than 16-0 this year. I would want the Super Bowl if I were them. I waited too long just to see my team lose the Super Bowl this year. Forget 16-0. If they go 9-7 and win the Super Bowl, I would be happy, if a Colts' fan.

True, the Super Bowl seems to be the unreachable goal for these guys. What the heck do the Colts need to do to win the AFC title and finally play for all the marbles? My gut tells me they mostly need help in the trenches on both sides of the ball. What does everyone else think?
