The 11-4 Colts have struggled as of late, but they can still clinch the #2 seed and a first-round bye with a win over the Miami Dolphins on Sunday plus a Ravens loss to Buffalo. They will the the #3 seed with a win, and the #4 seed with a loss and a Patriots victory. So first of all, can Indy beat the Fins, and secondly, will they be able to clinch that #2 seed?

Despite any arguments to the contrary, that's also where the Indianapolis Colts' playoff hopes likely rest: In the hands of their Pro Bowl quarterback, and those of his offensive cohorts.

After entertaining the Miami Dolphins today in the RCA Dome and having their postseason seeding determined -- anywhere from a No. 2 to a No. 4 seed, from playing next weekend to enjoying a bye -- the Colts embark on their latest journey into the playoffs.

They'll do so with an uncomfortable imbalance. Their defense is the least formidable among the nine teams that have clinched playoff berths: 20th overall, 32nd against the run, 23rd in points allowed. The coverage units on special teams also are among the NFL's worst.
