Colts pick up Ricky Proehl today. Great addition because I think this guy gives you solid hands when needed in a big down situation. When you have Reggie Wayne and Marvin Harrison though, does it really matter?

Alan Herman, Prohl's agent, confirmed his client signed a one-year contract with the team. Financial terms were not disclosed.
Prohl, 38, is a 16-year veteran who has excelled as a slot receiver. He has appeared in 242 games with 666 receptions, 8,848 yards and 54 touchdowns. He last played with the Carolina Panthers in 2005.
"He's a veteran guy who's been in these December and January big games,'' Colts coach Tony Dungy said before Prohl signed his contract. "He's a slot receiver who knows how to get open and make the tough catches.

Definitely a good signing. Proehl knows what it's like to be successful in January.
