Peyton Manning missed practice today. If you're wondering why that's newsworthy, its because according to the Associated Press, this is the first time in his nine year career the Colts QB has not participated in a regular season practice. Sadly, he was absent to attend his grandmother's funeral. She died on Monday at the age of 86. Indy coach Tony Dungy said that Peyton may be back on Thursday, but seeing as how the Colts have a bye week this week, I imagine his presence in practice won't be required.

You gotta give it to the guy. No matter what you think of him in the playoffs and whatever else, he's always ready for gameday. That's gotta count for something.
