That season, the team - which was located in Baltimore, Maryland at the time - went 9-3 and finished in first place in the NFL West. They went on to win the championship by beating the New York Giants, 23-17, in what is known as the "Greatest Game Ever Played." The 1958 league title game, as most fans know, marked the first time in NFL history that a game went to sudden-death overtime. The following season, the Colts and Giants met again with the NFL championship on the line, with Baltimore winning by a 31-16 score. The Colts went on to make 10 playoff appearances, winning the 1968 NFL Championship and Super Bowl V in 1970, before leaving the city of Baltimore and relocating to Indianapolis prior to the 1984 season.

The team has made it back to the playoffs several times since then, and of course fans snatched up the Indianapolis playoff tickets. These days, with stars like Peyton Manning, Marvin Harrison and company running one of the NFL's best offenses, many people predict that this squad will be a serious playoff threat for many seasons to come.
