Pacers to hire Stan Van Gundy

Rumor has it that Stan Van Gundy will be the next head coach of the Indiana Pacers.

According to an Indystar.com report, "The Indiana Pacers have spoken to former Miami Heat coach Stan Van Gundy about their coaching vacancy, a person with knowledge of the situation said Wednesday... Van Gundy had no comment when reached by phone Wednesday evening." Should Larry Bird hire Van Gundy to coach the Pacers?

Van Gundy got a raw deal in Miami. He probably could've coached that team to the title last year, too.

I liked Jeff when he coached the Knicks.

Wow, talk about a reversal of fortune. Van Gundy, once almost assured of the job, is now reportedly no longer a candidate! The Pacers will now reportedly interview Chicago Bulls lead assistant Jim Boylan. So what in the world happened to cost Van Gundy the job?

JVG is remembered as the last coach to actually win with the Knicks. What's your beef with him Pundit?

As for SVG...he's a good coach and obviously ran into politics on his way out.

i thought they needed an epeirenced coach Boylan is a very good coach and we will miss him in chicago
