Re: Hoosiers football - upset specials

Interesting preview of the 2006 Hoosier football program, but my favorite parts are where he picks the upset specials.

Who could Indiana upset? "Don’t be surprised if Indiana beats Connecticut. The Huskies have led the Big East in total defense the past two seasons, which should prove interesting considering the Hoosiers have the players in place to move the ball on a consistent basis. UConn comes in with bowl aspirations and is a better overall squad than IU. Then again, the Huskies aren’t exactly a Big East power, either."

On the flip side, who has a shot at pulling off an upset against the Hoosiers? "Don’t be shocked if Indiana loses to Western Michigan. Talk about a scary season-opening draw. The Broncos, who reside in the highly-respected Mid-American Conference, finished 7-4 a year ago. Gone are talented wideout Greg Jennings (now with the Packers) and 1,000-yard rusher Trovon Riley. Whether or not those holes can be filled is a question mark. But a talented defense awaits. A road victory over a Big Ten opponent would be a huge confidence boost to a program that won just one game in 2004."

A win over UConn and a loss to Western Michigan? Will either or both happen?
