Hoosier players threaten boycott

The situation at Indiana just just keeps getting uglier and uglier. Now that it's official that Kelvin Sampson is out as head coach (after accepting a buyout), six Hoosiers players, including D.J. White, are threatening to sit out Saturday's game against Northwestern in protest. They already skipped interim coach Dan Dakich's first practice, so keep an eye on this situation.

Kick their a$$es out. They want to play for a man like Sampson they are just as bad in my opinion.

ESPN.com's Pat Forde agrees with you, Q - "Here's my suggestion: Any player who doesn't make the trip to Northwestern is cut. Kelvin Sampson should not be made a martyr for breaking NCAA rules. College players aren't in charge of personnel decisions. Period."

Sampson cheated. He should have never been hired from the get go. The AD should lose his job, because it's his fault for the shame that is now on the University. The six players who have acted out, should have been told to pack the moment they missed the practice. Pat Forde is right, Sampson shouldn't be made a martyr.

I understand their loyalty to a coach who has helped them get to where they are, but they are forgetting that the man cheated. I cant see that Sampson will be hired back, so dont understand what they think they are trying to accomplish.
It was also said that as DJ White goes, so will the rest of the team.

Well, they played and they won, 85-82, but after the game a lot of them still were still talking up Sampson.

Eric Gordon said, “He wasn’t just like a coach. He was more like a father to us. We just miss him.”

They"ll get over it. Did they all play? Last I read it wasnt for sure they would be able to because they missed practice. If I understood correctly that is.

Sounds like they all played. The interim coach said something like they were all kids and dealing with tough times, and he didn't want to punish them.

I think they should have been set out, just to make them grasp reality. That would have straightened things out quick.
