According to a report by FOXSports.com citing numerous sources, Kevin Sampson has been fired. The official announcement will be made on Friday.
Sampson was cited by the NCaa for 5 major violations including not following the restrictions placed on the Hoosiers because of Sampson's previous NCAA violations at Oklahoma. He is also alleged to have misled investigators by "repeatedly" providing "false or misleading" information.
Sampson placed or participated in calls that violated his restrictions, and had impermissible contact with recruits.
Indiana has the right to a clean break with Sampson because of a clause in his contract.
Dan Dakich, former Hoosier player and assistant under Bob Knight likely will be named interim head coach.

Yeah, pretty much. Indiana's making the right move here. By repeating the offense, Sampson proved he hasn't changed and doesn't care.
