Why? Unlike the NFL's handling of Belichick, the NCAA's going to actually discipline IU and Sampson. That's where they punish a guy for cheating, just to clear that up for everyone. It happens so rarely anymore, I'm not sure everyone remembers. Besiders, Sampson may well be fired in the next few days, according to reports. Canned for what he did. So are you sure you still want to draw comparisons between this and the Pats situation, simon? Maybe someone from the New England office will read this and get some ideas about how to handle their situation...

Somewhere I read that this had really made the rounds in collegiate circles and would have been more in the news except that the Barry Bonds thing was taking all the attention.
I dont think that this will be the end of it. The NCAA isnt finished with this it and if I remember right the school wasnt either because Sampson lied to them also.

Anybody know a feel good story about sports that doesn't include steroids, HGH, video tapes, illegal calls, NCAA players accepting things from agents, MLB managers betting on their sports, blood doping, etc, etc, etc...

Seems like we spend more time on this then a person getting a triple double, or a hit for the cycles etc...

Ya know, a lot of folks are accused of bringing up the cheating thing all the time about a certain team.

This has gotten silly. Specter, or any of the goverment, shouldn't be in the business of investigating sports crap.

If anything, the Police should be investigating illegal steriod use, and the goverment should be worried about the economy, and getting our troops home!

I vote this thread be closed, and a truce called with all this BS. Time for racing, and baseball. Everyone get over the Pats, steriods, NCAA cheating (which will never stop).
