Bob Knight and Steve Downing Inducted to Hoosier Hall of Fame

Bloomington, Indiana - The Indiana University Athletic Hall of Fame is honored to induct two of the most important names in the history of the men's basketball program, Steve Downing and Bob Knight. They were honored along with five others Friday night in a ceremony at Assembly Hall that was attended by 800, the largest crowd for the event ever.

The pair join former men's soccer coach Jerry Yeagley (men's soccer, 1973-2003), Katrin Koch (women's track and field, 1989-92), Joe Norman (football, 1975-78, the late Mike Rabold (football, 1956-58, and Alan Somers (swimming, 1961-63) in the 2009 class.
Coach Knight was presented by 2008 IU Athletics Hall of Famer Bob Hammel and Rabold was honored by his brother John.
