Nobody has been sacked in a 4-year period more than Houston Texan David Carr. The former #1 overall selection has been battered and bruised in his time in the NFL but after 4 miserable seasons with Dom Capors the future may be looking up for Carr and Co. Longtime Bronco Offensive Coordinator Gary Kubiak was hired during the offseason to take over his hometown team. A former QB himself, Kubiak will bring with him Denver’s potent West Coast attack and will try to start a legacy of runners in Houston similar to that in Denver. His success, however, will be dependant on keeping Carr upright.

Houston's one of those teams that you really can't even see a silver lining for in amongst all the clouds. At least, I find that to be the case. By the time they get a decent o-line and enough offensive weapons to help Carr out, he'll be washed up. The defense still doesn't look to be any great shakes despite the fact that they spent the #1 overall pick to try and help out. And despite the new coaching staff, the future doesn't really look any brighter for the Texans, does it?

5-11 sounds ok

but i think a split with Jacksonville may be a stretch

i think they may be Oakland instead

What possesed a team that consistantly gives up 60-70 sacks a year to take a DE over an Offensive of Lineman in the 1st round?...by the time Williams becomes an impact player, Carr maybe dead...still I like this team...Andre Johnson will rebound for a huge year...Carr will get him the ball...here is hoping (figures firmly crossed) for a 7-9 season.

Re: TheSportsGuru 2006 NFL Preview - Houston Texans

I went with the Jacksonville split because the Texans always seem to play the Jags tough...

2002 -- 1-1
2003 -- 1-1
2004 -- 2-0
2005 -- 0-2

That's 4-4 againts the Jag's, and I think the Texans are better this year than last, so a split is well within the realm of possibility....
