David Carr met with Seahawks They supposedly met yesterday but this makes no sense to me from either side. Am I wrong? Quote:
Even if Carr were signed as the No. 2 guy, he might be the third quarterback on game days, for practical reasons. Rules prevent the No. 1 or No. 2 QB from playing after the inactive third quarterback has been put in the game. If Wallace were the third guy, in other words, he could not get in the game at receiver because the first- and second-string guys would immediately be ruled out. Wallace might have to throw passes to himself in that scenario.
Here's what Mike Holmgren said about the backup QB situation last week, before news broke that Carr might be an option: "Seneca had a chance to play last year and did OK, so he gives you a sense that we can get it done. Now, with David Greene, he's got to take a step this year. And he's a capable guy. Now I just have to see him be able to take what his natural stuff is and put it into a game."
