Texans CUT David Carr, Domanick Williams

Yes, you read that right. Instead of trying to trade these two talented football players, the Houston Texans just up and released QB David Carr and RB Domanick Williams. I'll tell you folks, if this was April 1, I'd just assume it was an April Fools Day joke, but nope, it's the real deal. The full story is at Texans release David Carr, Domanick Williams - NFL - Yahoo! Sports

Fools...hope Carr goes on to a HOF career...didn't even try to trade the man...this Franchise deserves the losing tag it has.

Re: Texans CUT David Carr, Domanick Williams

it makes no sense. Why would they just release them. Even a 6th round pick is better than nothing. Any team would have at least given that to get them.

You'd think right?...but after they committed to Matt, they might have been screwed...

Agreed. I think these guys have stolen the title of NFL's worst from office from Matt Millen and the Detroit Lions. There no excuse for this. Both of these guys could've netted draft picks in return, possibly both first-day picks. Carr could well be someone's franchise QB with a fresh start and a decent OL, and let's not forget that Williams is a talented back who should find at least a 2nd string and maybe a platoon role somewhere. Absolutely boneheaded.

I always wonder how people lend these high paying GM jobs...and actually keep them...and then you see the franchise struggling financially, bonehead draft moves, and money that gets pissed away...sometimes I think an average Joe with an ounce of common sense can do better.

In this case, yeah... I think any average Joe would've known to draft Reggie Bush or Vince Young #1 overall last year, get some value for Carr and Williams if you have to get rid of them, and, oh yeah, fix the bleepin' offensive line already. The problems in Houston shouldn't take a rocket scientist to fix. Just a little common sense.

Yep, that's all I am saying...instead of Donald Trump "The Apprentice"...make it a reality show to GM the Texans, Lions or Knicks...heck throw in the Raiders...

Re: Texans CUT David Carr, Domanick Williams

It ain’t easy being a Texans fan.

I sort of understand the Williams release because there are some real concerns that he may never be healthy enough to play again. But the Carr release and the way this situation was handled just totally baffles me. They could have gotten something for him…anything. I think by waiting until they signed Shaub before trying hard to deal him really came back to bite them because they appeared desperate to get rid of him after that. Carr will catch on with a team and will probably be a starter somewhere. I wish him the best of luck. I always thought he got a lot of blame he really didn’t deserve from the media and fans.

Somewhere Reggie Bush is looking up at the heavens and saying..."Thank you!"...

Re: Texans CUT David Carr, Domanick Williams

Wow. I know Carr is no Montana or Elway but he was pretty good when he wasn't being chased around by defenses because of a poor o-line.

And what does Houston think Matt Schaub can do right out of the box? Do they think he'll do better with the same bad o-line?

Cool Re: Texans CUT David Carr, Domanick Williams

How can they not get a pick back for Carr? Unreal.

If they took the Houston Texans managment's brains, and put them in a bird, the bird would fly backwards.

Passing on Bush doesn't really bother me that much...Vince Young is another story. They play the Titans twice every year and the decision to pass on him is going to haunt this team for a very long time.

The Knicks??? Did you know that at this point in his career Eli Manning is way ahead of Walt Frazier and Willis Reed?
