A really stupid question (sorry!)

Okay this is going to seem really stupid, but what’s a sack? This new guy I like and want to date said that the Houston quarterback gets sacked a lot. How do you get sacked a lot? Is that like losing your job like football managers in Europe?

Also, I need something impressive I can say about the Houston football team? Keep it simple so I do not have to answer follow up questions. I just want to make random comments.

LOL, I applaud you for wanting to learn something about what your "friend" seemingly loves.

Anyway, a sack is when the defense tackles the Quarterback before he can throw a pass. A sack is great for the defense but terrible for the offense.

Houston is not a good football team lol. Sorry but I'm not sure there are many positive things to bring up about them.

Now, now Empire what kind of help is that?

You could've helped out a little...here is any easy one to remember...

"Its a shame they didn't draft Reggie Bush. With Davis out they could use him"

...try that...

Thanks bunches Empire! -

Okay, so if he gets tackled before throwing it’s a sack. What if he starts running with it and he didn’t aim to throw it? Is it still a sack?

Gotham who is Reggie Bush? Is he related to the president’s family down here? Is that why they should get him because he has connections to the president’s family?.I am not sure I understand your answer? -

Sorry my bad...no not related...not unless something happened a few generations back that we do not know about.

Reggie was a college star...and it looked like Houston was going to be able to get him...instead they ended up with a guy named Mario Williams (also not related to the president)...

Look, you don't have to know the sport...try asking open ended questions...let him think you are deep or knowledgeable...

Like, "What do you think of the running game this year?"...then let him talk and nod a lot...it should work...trust me

Everyone here is great people to be freinds with, so any questions feel free to ask.

Where the ball is placed when you start to play is the line of scrimmage (sp). When the quaterback gets tackled behind that line it is called a sack.
So that means your "line" or "Offensive Line" cannot keep the attackers or "Defense Line" from running him over.

Thanks for the help Epic!

And Gotham, I looked up Reggie Bush. Okay, so I can see there is no family resemblance (lol). Guess I should die my hair blonde you guys, but in my defense, I spent a great part of my life in Europe as an Air Force brat. I know a little more about the other kind of football I promise.

So, this Reggie Bush character, exactly why is he not playing in Houston again? Why did we not want him?

I think the President did not want a more popular Bush in Texas I guess... ...just kidding...scratch that...that's not really my answer...

My best guess is that they thought they needed more help on the Defensive Line and Mario Williams was a franchise player...Their backfield looked decent with Davis, and there were reservations on Reggie...he looked a bit small for the pros...that's my take anyway...
