How about David Carr?

Going into today's game with Washington, Houston Texans QB David Carr is the AFC's top rated passer with a 123.7 rating. This comes despite being sacked nine times already in 2006. So why the drastic improvement over his last couple of seasons? Can he keep it up?

Re: How about David Carr?

I agree with that, Gotham Dark Knight.

He has struggled playing on an expansion team since their existence. He is sacked so often because he has such a weak offense line. Put some fat lineman 350+ pounds and his sacks with drop dramatically.

He can pass well, as he hooked up with Andre Johnson and now Eric Moulds.

Cool Re: How about David Carr?

I think Carr is good but the Texans are just painful to watch.

Re: How about David Carr?

I think the jury is still out on David Carr. Is He the guy that can take a team to the Super Bowl. Obviously not this years team, or possibly the next 5 years teams. Sure he is putting up decent stats, but you can complete alot of passes when you only throw 3-7 yard passes and hope your receivers can break a tackle. Let's go one step further..........each week the players select a captain for offense and defense...........David Carr is never selected! Why is that? Should not your QB be "The Man"? He is maturing, no question. But does he have the "it" factor? I don't think so. If the Texans draft Brady Quinn in next years draft, the question of "How about David Carr?" will be answered!

Hard to throw further when you end up on your butt 70 times a season taking a sack...for the team he has, he is great QB...Quinn would look no better throwing from a seating position...

Re: How about David Carr?

You would be correct about the 70 sacks if we were talking about previous seasons, but he ain't on his but 70 times this season. You say he is a great quarterback for the team he has, but he has not shown anything at all to put "great" in a sentence referring to him. Average at best. You must have David Carr "fatheads" all over your place.
