Houston won their 15th straight game yesterday, tying a team record, by beating Denver 103-89. According to the Associated Press, "The winning streak is the longest in the NBA this season and... was Houston’s third straight win since losing All-Star center Yao Ming for the season with a stress fracture in his foot and its 19th win in the last 20 games." Can they continue to win, even with Yao out of the lineup?

This run by the Rockets just keeps getting more and more unbelievable. Yesterday, they became just the third team in NBA history to win 20 straight games, beating Atlanta 83-75. The 1971-72 Los Angeles Lakers (33 straight) and the 1970-71 Milwaukee Bucks (20) are the only other teams to have achieved the feat. How many consecutive wins can these guys put together, anyway?

I think they can win only 15 without Yao Ming...oops we are past that aren't we... ...the ball is bouncing the right way for these guys...they are headed for the playoffs with a good head of steam, but no Yao...I think they will get bounced.

That's the thing. We all keep thinking, without Yao, they can't keep it up forever. But thus far, they've been proving us wrong, haven't they? So who knows. Perhaps the sky really is the limit for the Rockets team, even without their star center.

It would be interesting to see them get past LA...they will hit the playoffs with a head of steam...and unmatched confidence.

I personally dont really like the Lakers, to many bandwagon fans. Hopefully Gasol is still out by then and they have a decent chance of winning. Polls show- will rockets defeat the lakers. 78% no 22% yes
