The Houston Astros signed right-hander Oscar Villarreal to a two-year, $2.85 million contract Friday.
The deal, worth $1 million in 2008 and $1.6 million in 2009, includes a $250,000 signing bonus and a $2 million club option for 2010.

Good pickup. Middle relievers are like gold right now. They picked one up fairly cheap.

Although you never know how a reliever will do from year to year, signing him for that amount is a good deal. He was a good enough arm for the Braves last year.
