Astros Hire Cecil Cooper as Permanent Manager

Just saw it on ESPNews, the Astros have officially announced that Cecil Cooper will be the official manager of the team next year. He was interim until now after Phil Garner was fired several weeks back.

I think they had to do this because of how Bud Selig but them into corner by saying he wanted to Cooper to get the job to promote black managers. If the commish says it you do it

Selig offered his opinion a few weeks ago saying he thought Cooper deserved to be hired as permanent manager.

Of course Cooper was part of the Selig-owned Milwaukee Brewers organization years ago.

If Houston wanted anyone else, they would have went that way. They think Cooper can lead the team. Now they just need the GM to get some players.

Under .500 but not by much. Around 13-15 I think.
