| Jennings gets game-winning hit
Of all the people you could send to the plate to pinch-hit in the 14th inning, pitcher Jason Jennings - a .059 hitter on the season - probably seems like a pretty unlikely candidate. But that's exactly what the Houston Astros did in last night's game against the Atlanta Braves, and wouldn't you know it? Jennings hit an RBI single with two out that powered his team to a 12-11 extra-innings victory.
"I had a good hitter's count, so I was sitting on a fast ball and that's what I got," Jennings told reporters afterwards. "I knew he didn't want to walk me with the leadoff hitter coming up next." So how about that for a wild finish? |
