Bagwell, "This is What I do"

Jeff Bagwell is in such an awkward position. The Astro's owner McClane prefers that he doesn't show up in order to collect insurance money. Bagwell is not a bad guy and the owner is a pretty good guy himself. Business and money have a way of getting in the way of even the best relationships in Major League Baseball. I hope that there is a good end to this story. Jeff Bagwell has never been a bad actor. He was quoted in the papers saying, "This is what I do, this is who I am, I just can't walk away from it". He's such a competitor. I wish him well.

I agree. I've always considered Bagwell to be a class act, which is always great to see in professional sports.

Lates on Bagwell who has just two hits this Spring in 12 at bats...

News: Jeff Bagwell, who left Tuesday's game due to shoulder soreness, is slated to return to the lineup on Friday.

Impact: Bagwell took batting practice today and will do the same tomorrow. "Nothing's changed," he said. "I was supposed to play last night, have today off. I don't feel that bad, I don't feel that great. I don't feel worse than last night." (Thu. Mar 16, 2006)
