Cool Clemens best of all time?

If Roger Clemens had pitched his whole career in the NL, I think we would think of him as the best pitcher of all time. Better than Carlton, Seaver, Gibson and anyone else you can name. Look at the numbers he's putting up in his 40's. Can you imagine what he would have done in his 20's and 30's.

Re: Clemens best of all time?

He put up some incredible numbers in his 20's and 30's, too. I'm not sure what kind of a big difference the switch in leagues made for him. He was one of the best hurlers on the mound in both leagues. I think the biggest thing that would've impacted his career would've been the change of players of each decade. Now, there aren't any Rickey Hendersons taking the bags behind your back or Mark McGwire taking the balls over the outfield fence seconds after you deliver them to his plate.

Not so sure. I think he is the best of the 80's, 90's and 00's...but I'd take Seaver, Carlton and Gibson over him...

I would say, he is best pitcher over 40...hands down over Nolan Ryan.
