Esposito named captain of Canada's under 18s

Angelo esposito, it doesn't get much more Italian than that. they open the Ivan Hlinka Memorial Junior tournament against switzerland today.
canada's won 9 of the last 10 tournaments, so they are the favourite.
Esposito will be up for NHl draft in 2007. He was on the Quebec Ramparts, Patrick's roy's team that won the Memorial Cup this year. Esposito is a 6 ft 1 centre and tallied 98 points last season.
wikipedia says he is not related to Phil or Tony, but does have uncles named Phil and Tony, and he wears number 7.

The Future - Will 2007 Be Esposito's Year?
Angelo Esposito is a 17-year-old phenom who currently plays for the Quebec Ramparts. He won the Michel-Bergeron Award as the offensive rookie of the year. The 6-foot-1, 174 lb center had 98 points in 57 games with 39 goals. He was a +42 on the season and most are expecting him to be the #1 at next year's draft. The NHL has had a huge youth infusion the past two seasons and Esposito will just add to the depth that is building in the league. Few sports have the kind of talented young players that the NHL possesses and that's a real positive sign that the future of the league is secure. The old NHL was built on star power and veterans and the new NHL is built on youth and speed and that's what makes it so exciting.
