NHL Draft 2006: Penguins chose Jordan Staal

The Pittsburgh Penguins used the second pick to select Jordan Staal, the 17-year-old brother of Carolina Hurricanes star forward Eric Staal.
Jordan is the third of what could be four Staals drafted into the NHL -- older brother Marc, 19, was the 12th pick in 2005 and is already signed with the New York Rangers and younger brother Jared, 15, is being touted as the best of the bunch. Jordan, a 6-foot-4, 209-pound center who is widely compared to big brother Eric, had 28 goals and 68 points in the Ontario Hockey League last season.

So will young Jordan be anything like his high profile, high scoring brother?

My dad in law has seasons tickets to see Peterborough Petes games and he told us all about Eric and Jordan over these last few years. He seems more excited about jordan.

Hey now... inside information...I like it. Ask your father in law to drop in and give us the scoop on Jordan.

Re: NHL Draft 2006: Penguins chose Jordan Staal

He passed this on to me:
Jordan Staal at age 17 has great potential in hockey - he has size, he has
speed, he has great hockey sense, he can score and he is good defensively.
With age, maturity and experience he could be a franchise player (the player
a team builds around).
Quote my father in law.
