we were bringing up the topic of relocation again the other day and the best places for teams to end up - there's no question when it comes to ticket sales: Canada rules.
the top 7 ticket revenue per game 07/08 season:
toronto $1.9 mill
montreal 1.7 mill
vancouver 1.4 mill
calgary 1.3 mill
rangers 1.3 mill
ottawa 1.2 mil
edmonton 1.2 mill

the bottom 7:
Nashville $600,000
washington 550,000
atlanta 550,000
Islanders (what?!?) 550,000
Florida 500,000
Chicago 500,00
Phoenix 450,000

(in between and in order- starting with 8th at Minnesota ($1.1 mill), Colorado, detroit, Philly, Dallas, SJ, Anaheim, NJ, Columbus, Pittsburgh, TB, Boston, Buffalo, carolina, LA, St. Louis ($600,00)).
Now some notes - SJ will raise their tickets prices next season by 7 or 8% - it lost 5 mill over these last 2 seasons.
And Washington admin has said they have already sold 2500 new seasons tickets for next season.
Bring the next one to canada - reap the big $$.

oh and Dallas - who's got a great team - regularly gives away 2500 free tickets a game to keep their attendance above 18,000.
