| Father of Ice Hockey finally honoured
A man named James Creighton was honoured by the Canadian government this week.
he is the acknowledged Father of Ice Hockey.
He organized the first indoor hockey game on March 3, 1875 in Montreal.
He died back during the first world war and his gravestone was unmarked. Now a plaque in Montreal's Bell Centre honours both Creighton and the rink where it all started, Victoria Skating Rink.
It's about time.
