| Re: NHL amends unsportsmanlike conduct rule in response to Avery's antics I disagree - i totally understand why Tucker is only loved by leaf fans or Tootoo is only adored in nashville - they hit, they play hard and sometimes they try to get away with something and don't always get caught. Even Stevens when he played for the Devils - i Hated him but would i have wanted him on my team? yeah. I would hate to have an avery on my team. I think he's a dirt smudge on hockey. Give me a hard hitter, a bully, a fighter - whatever - but don't give me a loser who doesn't know where to draw the line. You can keep Simon too.

| Re: NHL amends unsportsmanlike conduct rule in response to Avery's antics I know what you mean about blowing it out of proportion, how it can sound like that. And Stevens was a dirty guy - I hated what he did to lindros. Yeah, i think he needed to get more calls. But what Avery stands for is more than a crappy act once in front of brodeur. He is a bad name for hockey, again and again. I don't have respect for a guy whose career destination is to Be A Bug. I know he gets goals, and that side of him, yeah, sure, rock on. But if he really thinks in his brain that it is worth it to stand in front of Brodeur like that rather than think, hey if i faced outward, i could block him AND possibly get a goal, then I just think he's stupid. I think he doesn't use his brain. That's why i compare him to Simon. he's not bright either. It doesn't seem like it's blowing it all out of proportion to me when you are taking about taking a step somewhere that makes hockey not such a great sport anymore. Avery in general takes away from what i think is the integrity of the game. the other night just made me see how far he'll go. |

| Re: NHL amends unsportsmanlike conduct rule in response to Avery's antics Sorry Merv. Want I was tryin to say was... It took them a little bit of the powerplay to get the goal. They didn't score the goal while Avery was doin his antics, and it took them some time past that point to get the goal. Can you halfway follow what I'm gettin at?
