Tight Race In The NHL's Eastern Conference

its a very tight race in the NHL's Eastern Conference right now ..... only 11 points separate #1 New Jersey and #9 Buffalo

there may be a lot of shuffling yet to come before the playoffs start

And, of course, I'll be rooting for the Flyers.

I actually wouldn't mind seeing the Caps do well, though. I hate the Devils, the Rangers, and the Penns.

I don't see any East Team beating the West, but then, stranger things have happened.

Yeah, Caps should make a good run of it. So should my Pens.

if I can just say five words - Carolina Hurricanes won the Cup.
So yes stranger things have happened and some times the East does better than the West no matter how many people say the West is better.
I like the east - we're scrappers and we surprise.

I'd be cool with that outcome.

You guys pulled one out last night! I caught the TSN broadcast!

Cool Re: Tight Race In The NHL's Eastern Conference

I really don't see my squad making it in this year.

Re: Tight Race In The NHL's Eastern Conference

The race in the East is very tight, which is good, it makes them play harder, and gets all the teams ready for the post season. The Pens will win their Division and Conference, look how well we're playing without Sid, next week when he comes back, it's all over.

Yeah we were like a real professional hockey team .
Razzing them aside, watching them play of late has only been a joy. I really think this whole, We are out of the race - made them find their collective sweet spot.

I don't know Dude.

Playoffs are all about the goalies in my mind. Does Kolzig have what it takes? He's 19th over all for wins (Brodeur is 1st), 39th in Goals agains average (6th worst in the league).

I think Jersey's got the edge.

Re: Tight Race In The NHL's Eastern Conference

yeah Kolzig's not the most dependable goalie he used to be and when it comes down to the playoffs, it is always about the goalie.
That's why I'd say Pittsburgh or the Hurricanes because Ward rocks or (do I have to say it?) Ottawa with Gerber.
It always ends up being a bright young star that breaks through or an old dependable ie Hasek that does it again.

8 will make it in each conference... And you end up with 2 fighting to the end. Very intense.

Yep, Kolzigs game really seems to have dropped off. You don't really hear his name mentioned when there is talk of top flight goalies!

Love the way Malkin's stepped up with game without Crosby. Once he get Sid back, and Hossa, I can't wait to see this offense!
