A few weeks ago I heard an interview with Tampa Bay's GM in which he was hinting at dumping the season and starting to move some players...maybe Richards is that player.

every leaf who has a no-trade clause - Kubina, McCabe, Kaberle, Sundin and Tucker - have all vocally stated: I will not waive it.
kaberle is the most vocal lately, as the rumours of philly wanting him and will give up carter.
But reporters continue to badger sundin, and when rumours of the Habs being interested in Mats, they asked him:
Have you been getting up to speed on your French?
to which mats said:

idiotic, this. sometimes i wish we could just sit and listen and wait. Enough of the onslaught of WILL YOU GO?
Asked and answered, by all of them. yes it could change come Feb 26 but for now, answered.

so the talk is, Fletcher has asked Sundin for a list of teams he WOULD go to IF he waived his no trade clause.
And the crowds surround Brad Richards as his name becomes fodder for trade speculation.

I wonder how many deals there are actually going to be. So many teams are on the verge of playoff spots. So it would be a tough thing to tell your fans that you're giving up. Maybe just 2 or 3 teams are totally out of it...The LA Kings? Who else?

Even the Islanders, who I was sure 2 weeks ago were going to dump players -are back in the playoff picture so they're not going to trade anybody.

Today, more definitively, is a list of who is most likely moving, who wants them and most likely where they are going to end up (from the toronto star):
Hossa - Montreal, Detroit and Anaheim -they are saying most likely Montreal.
Sundin - Montreal, Anaheim, Detroit and vancouver - Anaheim's the best bet - now yesterday, mats made a statement: I AM GOING NOWHERE. so I believe him.
Boyle- San Jose, Rangers and Montreal - most likely to San Jose.
Tanguay- Montreal, Pittsburgh - he's going to Montreal
Campbell- San Jose, rangers, NJ - going to Jersey
Jokinen - Ottawa, Detroit, Anaheim, dallas - Dallas
Fedorov-Detroit, SJ Ott - Detroit (again!) - I had no idea he was heading out of Columbus
Rob Blake- SJ, Dallas, Colorado - stays in LA (good for him!)
Foote- NJ, SJ, Ottawa - going to San Jose
Now this is all MAYBE again, but they seem to be the short lists.

The Islanders should be in the Jokinnen sweepstakes. They still have time to make up for trading him in the first place. I would give Bruno Gervais and Jeff Tambellini for him.
