| Respect in hockey This article may catch some by surprise some, since it is written by a Philly writer. But, before commenting, please read the whole thing. He has some great points, and doesn't dismiss the Flyers cheap shots this year. Phil Sheridan: Lack of respect hurts players and the game | Philadelphia Inquirer | 01/25/2008 |

| Re: Respect in hockey Glad you liked it. I love the hard hits, as long as they are clean. I agree that players just don't respect each other anymore. But then, all sports have gotten that way, the physical nature of hockey and football just make it worse. NHL players take more liberties the NFL players, though. I hope it's a trend that stops! |

| Re: Respect in hockey I love the physicality. I love the clean hits. i don't even mind the enforcers who know their roles (I wish coaches would admit to putting them out for just such a reason, though) - I just really hate the dirty hits. |

| Re: Respect in hockey Laraque is yet to be suspended...if he even will be..it baffles me.. i dont feel anyone on the flyers is out to injure anyone, in contrast to "the experts" opinions..philly is a team that has hard working individuals that get caught up in the moment from time to time and have paid for their actions... scott hartnell is a big concern for me... ill be honest..i ragged on him for the first 2 months of the season...or at least until he scored his first goal with a goalie actually in the net...he takes stupid and unnecessary penalties but doesnt receive the criticism for it because he has been putting the puck in the net and helping the powerplay lately...the flyers need discipline from certain players...the penalty kill is bad enough...they cant afford to be taking dumb penalties |
