Did anyone watch the game today??? I thought it was great! Playing hockey in the snow. What a cool sight. The game was fun, even if I was Flipping back and forth to the VA game!

And I liked the old school sweaters too!

They could have picked a better day! It was on NBC at 1 pm EST. NOt the best day to do the event, but it was pretty cool.

azrael, you're not the only one who heard nothing about it. I didn't know they were even planning on having an outdoor hockey game again. A shame too, I would have watched some of it.

That what gets me. I would've loved to see it. But not on New Years Day. New Years Day is for college bowl games.

Yep. As was said earlier, they have not done a great job of marketing. I think it's time for a new commissioner myself. I love the sport, and I hate to see it treated as second class. I know there used to be a group of us that got together and watch the games all the time. When we fisrt got ESPN2 many years ago, that was a real bright spot for us, being real hockey fanatics.

Now, with it being on VS,it really has fallen on hard times.

We heard all about it up here in Canada, and so did 71000 other people who attended the game - there is no better day for us to watch it as we don't have any football going on on new year's day.
It looked amazing, with the snow falling like that - what a great idea.

I was channel surfing through the bowls games on CBS, NBC, and ABC and came across this. I watched the last five minutes and the shootout. I would watch hockey on a regular basis if all the games were outside.
