The Islanders don't play another game until next Saturday. What is this, football?

Only in the NHL. Maybe Gary Bettman should worry about something else other than heated skates.

Not only do the Isles have a week between games, but after this Saturday's game, they don't play again until next Thursday. So they have 1 game in 11 days, and 2 games in 12.

Is this the dumbest thing you've ever heard? Did the schedule maker have a couple of Vodkas when he put together the schedule?

Sounds to me like the NHL could afford to shorten the season a bit, if they're spreading games out this much. Why not 3-4 games per week?

It makes no sense. Hockey and hoops teams shouln't EVER have a full week off. But this is the NHL.
