Notes on last night's game:
Biggest surprise: Nashville. Forgive my ignorance - Paul Kariya's a predator? Guess i knew that, somewhere back in my brain. But I forgot. The Shark/Predators matchup could turn out to be the most exciting one of all. They lose Vokoun but this Mason kept them in the game.
Exciting overtime: Detroit vs. Edmonton. I LOVE the regular overtime, no shootouts. Maltby's the hero, but Roloson- wow. He stopped 54 shots. He should have been the hero, but since they didn't win - Edmonton looks good, still.
Most sluggish start: Ottawa. Thought for a few periods that Ottawa was already falling into their post season CHOKE pattern. then they came back. I have some senators on my hockey pool team, so I'm torn - Score no Lose no Score no Lose... It wasn't such a hot game. The Lightning need to at least make the Sens work.
Montreal game is one I'm looking forward to tonight. We don't get the Dallas-Avalanche game up here. We do get Rangers and Devils (great match up) and Fleyrs and Sabres (ditto).
This is almost as exciting as having the Leafs play. When I asked my husband, what channel do the Leafs play on? (in a hazy form of denial) he told me,
The Golf Channel.

Ottawa off to a sluggish start? They beat Tampa Bay 4-1. That sounds good to me!

It was 1-0 Tampa for almost 2 periods. That's what I meant. then Ottawa turned it on.

Okay, okay...I am late for the party...I know...but look...I had this project in Brazil (no lie), a few Engineering drawings, and a Maintenance manual to put together this week...sooo cut me some slack... I'm still, and always will be a hockey man...(sort of like Duckie in Pretty in Pink saying he would stay a Duck man....never mind...and btw, that movie had an alternate ending...which was later used for Some Kind of Wonderful...big John Hughes fan growing up...never mind)...lets see...my picks are...

1) Nashville...I like the uni and I am a Paul Kariya fan....
2 )Wings...cause I am selling a lot of Wings on e-Bay (hockey cards sooo, I got to have them keep their value right)...
3) Tampa Bay...cause its like a second home...though Orlando is much, much better...still had some nice dates in Tampa...Heather and Sandy...this pick is for you girls...
4) Rangers cause I have to go against the Pundit...bless his Islander loving heart...
5) toss up on the Flyer-Sabre game...let me toss a coin...heads...its Flyers... I am a Flyer fan boys and girls...

6) Don't know who plays the Habs...soooo...I will comment later...
