| Re: NHL expansion to Orlando Does San Diego have an arena, I know they had the Clippers for sometime, were did they play? |

| Re: NHL expansion to Orlando Not sure where the Clippers played, but the ECHL team played at the San Diego Sports Arena. It apparently can hold about 13,000 for hockey games, so to be an NHL quality venue, they'd probably need to find a way to add some more seats.

| Re: NHL expansion to Orlando well Lefty i just looked up the #'s and for the 06-07 season 13,000 average attendance would put them ahead of the Blue, Blackhawks and Islanders so they wouldnt need to add many to be reasonable i dont think |

| Re: NHL expansion to Orlando Hmm, interesting. So maybe San Diego would work, should the NHL choose to expand. But the more I think about it, are they seriously considering expansion with so many teams in the red financially? I find that hard to believe. |

| Re: NHL expansion to Orlando i think in some ways the NHL has alot of the same problems as the NBA ...... they need the biggest makets to do well to succeed Boston and such markets are dragging it down by not being near the top ........ the smallest markets are just filler in my mind

Branching out into Winnipeg or Quebec City with the Canadian dollar as it is now (around 92 cents to the american dollar) would benefit the NHL alot more. The interest in Winnipeg for example in the NHL has completly declined. Having a team in Manitoba with a population of 1 million or Quebec City (metro area around 700000) will benefit the NHL based on TV deals rather then forcing the southern population to watch something they don't care about. Although finding a canadian billionaire is another thing all together. |
